Whilst much has changed since the first store in 1901, the family continues to embrace their forefather’s commitment to quality hand crafted and fresh products along with great service and innovation. This includes the use of only free-range chicken, hormone free beef, fresh cream and real custard along with technological firsts such as Cakes Alive.
Nowadays, Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses are just as famous now for their desserts, birthday & wedding cakes, award-winning meat pies and Tiddly Oggies as they were when they started and with over 200 years of combined experience, you’d expect nothing less.
Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses in Waurn Ponds opened in 2008 and quickly became a popular local destination. The store manager Charlotte Rose and along with her retail team leaders, Amylea, Lucy & Holly go to great lengths to ensure each and every customer feels special when they visit. So much so, many customers have commented that the store is like a second home – it’s warm and inviting, with great service and of course amazing fresh treats and perfect coffee every time!
Now, in continuing this legacy, we’ve taken the warm and inviting vibe that you will always find at Waurn Ponds and the store has undergone a complete overhaul, been revamped and brought in the modern era.
Fantastic coffees made by dedicated and professionally trained baristas, alongside freshly baked pies and cakes as well as the commitment the team has made to impeccable service has meant that the store has previously been a finalist in Franchise Council Of Australia VIC Excellence in Franchising Awards.
Store owners Daniel and Anita Crouch, made the move from the health sector to be involved with Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses – a big jump which saw them able to try something new, achieve greater work life balance with their young family and achieve a greater sense career satisfaction.
