After 14 months of development our new Plant-Based Aussie Pie and Plant-Based Sausage Roll have launched in 80 Ferguson Plarre stores across Victoria and online.
We’ve finally created pies and sausage rolls everyone can enjoy. Both the Aussie Pie and Sausage Roll are vegan-friendly and have been created following the same principles as our classic products, great taste, quality ingredients, no-nasties, freshly-made and never frozen. There’s everything you love about our pies and sausage rolls, just without the meat,

ARE THEY VEGAN? WHAT IS VEGAN-FRIENDLY?
Our Plant-Based Aussie Pie and Plant-Based Sausage Roll contain absolutely no animal ingredients which makes them vegan-friendly. The products are however made with the same equipment as our meat-based savouries. Please rest assured that equipment is thoroughly sanitised before production and all Plant-Based items are produced prior to any meat based products to eliminate any chance of meat contamination.
WHAT IS THE PLANT-BASED AUSSIE PIE?
Our new Plant-Based Aussie Pie tastes just like a classic Australian pie; great pastry, delicious gravy and a hearty filling, but it has no meat! It’s the pie-fect winter treat everybody can enjoy!
Our vegan-friendly plant-based pie is made with real wholefoods and contains wheat, garlic, onion, chickpeas, our amazing gravy and lots of delicious herbs and spices. There’s no nasties and they’re fresh, never frozen. Find out more including a full ingredient list here.
WHAT IS THE PLANT-BASED SAUSAGE ROLL?
Our new Plant-Based Sausage Roll does the impossi-roll, bringing the same great taste of our Sausage Roll to everybody, just without the meat!
Our vegan-friendly plant-based sausage roll is made from a special recipe with shitake mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, onions, chickpeas, garlic and our secret blend of herbs and spices. There’s no nasties and they’re fresh, never frozen. Find out more including a full ingredient list here.
HOW IS THE “MEAT” MADE?
The mince in both products is made using a special recipe that we’ve developed over the last 14 months, using a unique range of healthy vegetables, combined with a natural wheat gluten recipe called Seitan.
Seitan actually has twice the iron & twice the protein of beef and is an entirely natural product. It is made by washing wheat flour dough with water until all the starch granules have been removed, leaving a sticky insoluble gluten product, which is then cooked before being eaten.
